Saturday September 30th.

Guests arrived in Dewsbury at approx 18:30. Eventually host families and guests, were paired off and departed for home, refreshments and a good nights sleep.

Sunday October 1st.

A free day get to know your guest day. Adult Guests and host families go for a meal at the Wheatsheaf Castelford.
Younger visitors accompanied host families to other venues of interest. At 19:00. The welcome disco was held at
  Shawcross Boys Club. 

Monday October 2nd.

Visit to the Yorkshire Mining Museum, with an under ground tour of the mine. Lunch was had at the Museum restaurant for all the party. Evening entertainment for the adults provided By Sheila and Geoff Atkinson. A good time was had by all lots of drink and food. Again thanks to Sheila and Geoff.

Tuesday 3rd October.

Full day outing to  Flamingo land Theme Park  and Zoo. Despite a depressing weather forecast, the day remained mostly fine and the youngsters enjoyed the day. As we had a F1 driver driving the bus, we will be back in Dewsbury by 16:30. So we Visited Mc Arthur Glen Outlet Center, York on the return journey. The evening entertainment provided by host families.

Wednesday 4th. October.

Visit to Northallerton Market. We then went to the forbidden corner,on arriving the packed lunch was taken. We have to get every one back to the coach for the return to Dewsbury for 18:30. The evening entertainment provided by host families.

Thursday 5th. October.

Late start as only a short trip to Visit Bradford Industrial Museum and Photographic Museum. A light snack for all on the way back. Before the swimming Gala at Dewsbury, In the evening, the annual inter-club swimming competition was won by Bergkamen. The day was rounded off at the Cracken Edge Inn, who kindly provided Light refreshments for all who came.

Friday 6th. October.

We visited the Railway Museum in York, then rest of day for shopping. Once again the weather was kind and a good day was enjoyed by all. In the evening farewell disco was held at Shaw Cross Boys Club where the Mayor of Kirklees Ann Denham presented the various trophies and addressed the gathering, expressing the hope that all present had enjoyed the visit and wishing them a safe journey back to Germany.

Saturday 7th. October.

Early departure of guests, smiles, hugs and tears before the coach departed at 5.00am.

Once again the visit was thoroughly enjoyed by all - here's to the next time!
